#TheLoft

You will find my Week One post and the linky tool at the bottom, but first, may I remind you how The Loft Link-Up works?

The Loft is a place for conversation, community, networking, and Christian growth.

Each week we provide a topic to start the conversation. Then, Wednesday morning at 5am EST, the link goes live, and for 5 glorious days you can link up your post on that week’s topic. The linky will close at 5pm EST on Monday.

Each week’s gathering will be much like a group of friends sitting around a table at a coffee shop having a chat about a specific topic. So it will be at The Loft. Please make sure the post you link-up pertains to the chosen topic of the week. We’ll have fun topics, serious topics, practical, soul-ful, holiday, and so, so much more…we can’t wait to get started! This is not only a great way to connect with others, it’s also a fun and easy way to establish a writing habit. If you aren’t a blogger, you are welcome to join in by leaving your comments in the comment section.

Listening is a lost art. Especially in the blogosphere where everyone wants to be heard. At The Loft, we know that listening is rewarding and rich… surprisingly so. Please do not link and run. For every link you leave, please visit at least two other links.

To Participate:

1. Be creative. Feel free to use words, photos, video, audio, your family pet, whatever, to communicate on the weekly topic.

2. Listen twice as much. If you leave one link, visit two.

3. Be a community. Include #TheLoft graphic and/or hashtag in your post and social media so we can find each other.

4. Write like Jesus would write. We are a Christian link-up. Offensive or inappropriate posts will be deleted. No questions asked.

5. Be pertinent. Our heart is to build community and intimacy, and our means to do that is to build each link-up around a single topic. Please make sure your post is on topic.

The Loft Link Up

When you link up at The Loft, your link will appear on three blogs! We’d love for you to visit The Loft co-hosts and know who we are:

Leah
Ruth

June 10th Topic: “The Place I Call Home” (tell us about the place you call home…either where you currently live or where you grew up. What makes the place you call home unique and special to you? Pictures are a great way to share!)

I hope you will plan to join us each week at The Loft

Today’s Topic: “I Am…..”

I amย created, loved, treasured and saved by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Because of this amazing truth, I have a relationship with Him and God the Father. The Spirit of God is in me.

I am passionate about telling people about the goodness of God in this messed up world. There is good news for all people, if they choose to listen, accept and follow the Lord.

I amย a creative and I express this through words written on my blog and on random pieces of paper.

I am not as confident as I would like to be, but I stand on the promises of the One who gives generously to all without finding fault (James 1:5).

I am happiest when I spend time in praise and worship with the Lord, often on a country walk or in a still, quiet place.

I am thankful to have the love and support of a wonderful husband who cares for me and cherishes me in every way.

I am blessed to have a lovely family. Thankful.

I am a cancer survivor who now has the privilege to work alongside others facing the ‘Big C’ too.

I am a writer because that is what God has laid on my heart to do.

I am a volunteer with Oxfam as I believe in helping people across the world, as well as on my doorstep. I studied Geography with International Relations, so this area of volunteering captures my interest. I love learning about new people and places.

I am that girl who collects random trinkets and ornaments to make a home more homely.

I am frightened of most spiders and I strongly dislike insects. Eww.

I am determined to keep up my writing. Hold me accountable if I do not post for a while!

I am unfit and love chocolate, cake and most sweet things. This is a bad combination and requires much prayer!

I am concerned for the church in this country and the West more generally. I hope we can have strong, bold, godly leaders who stick to biblical truth in the face of opposition and cultural change.

I am a worrier, but I know that I needn’t worry (Matthew 6:25).

I am excited to see how God has worked and continues to work in my life and the lives of others (especially in the hardest of times). It is worth sharing and writing about. Why would I keep something as awesome as that to myself? It would be madness!

I am looking forward to sharing my blog posts with you all and am very excited about the return of this lovely community at The Loft! Please join us and hang out for a while! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now, it is time to LINK~UP. Please use the inLinkz tool and link up your post that introduces yourself to us.

  1. I remember you from the old loft though you weren’t one of the prior hosts right? In any case, thanks for being a part of bringing it back!

  2. Ruth – I loved reading about YOU! My husband and also my best friend are cancer survivors. I can tell you are a special lady and I look forward to this “cyber-connection.” One day we will have eternity to share, all because of Jesus and eternal life in Him. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Lovely to hear from you Georgia and praise God for the health of your husband and best friend. I am looking forward to reading more from you and encouraging one another in Christ. I am very excited about eternity & hope we can tell as many people about Jesus as we can!
      God bless you my friend!

  3. Hi, Ruth! I’m so happy to connect with you on The Loft! I truly, truly loved your post and learning about you! My husband and sister are also cancer survivors. What a blessing that you can walk alongside other survivors and minister hope to others! I look forward to sharing with you in the coming weeks.

    1. Hi Suzanne! I LOVE to hear of other fellow cancer survivors. Although the disease is nasty and many lose the battle, it is important to still hold on to the victories. I am having to face the bad news daily in my job now. But to God be the glory in all things, because He has a plan for every single life, no matter how short. We are given new life in Him!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Looking forward to sharing with you Suzanne! ๐Ÿ™‚
