Hey there – unusual title for a post really. Some of my friends that do not yet believe in the saving grace of Jesus have joked and said that they need holy water thrown on them to cleanse them from their sin. Or to even walk into a church in case they burn to the ground. Rest assured – Jesus was a friend to sinners (Matthew 11:19) and is refuge and strength in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Joking aside, I have felt a real thirst recently. Not for water. But for Christ. I have been struggling with sin. I have felt far from God. But my heart is yearning to be closer to the Lord. I may not be where I want to be, but I am sure not where I used to be in my walk with Jesus. I am a work in progress. Changing and hopefully becoming more Christ-like.
I can rest assured that I am standing in the victory of Christ and even though I am tempted to despair by my own sin and the enemy, I can rest assured that I am in the arms of the living God.
Romans 8: 37-39:
37But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.38For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
